Turkey has launched a national call to develop indigenous advanced nuclear reactors with the help of its domestic industry, technical institutes and universities.

Industry and technology minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır called the move “a new step” in the country’s energy strategy as it seeks to reduce its use of imported fossil fuels, particularly oil, natural gas and coal.
