US-based reactor developer TerraPower and US utility partner PacifiCorp have begun a feasibility study on deploying up to five additional Natrium reactor and integrated energy storage systems in PacifiCorp service by 2035.
TherraPower said the study will evaluate, among other things, the potential for advanced reactors to be located near current fossil-fueled generation sites.This will allow PacifiCorp to repurpose existing generation capacities.
