Six US States Announce ‘Regional Commitment’ To Explore Deployment Of Advanced Reactors

Governors from the six New England states in the US have agreed to direct their state energy agencies to explore advanced nuclear energy technology to address region’s long-term energy needs

The bipartisan group announced a regional commitment to explore the deployment of advanced nuclear power plants across the region.

The six are Janet Mills (Maine), Ned Lamont (Connecticut), Maura Heley (Massachusetts), Kelly Ayotte (New Hampshire), Dan McKee (Rhode Island), and Phil Scott (Vermont).

They issued a joint statement outlining next steps to strengthen the region’s energy reliability, affordability, and long-term supply.
