Incident was related to non-compliance with general operating rules
An incident at the Golfech nuclear power station in southwest France during the draining of the primary circuit of Unit 2 has been rated by regulator ASN at level 2 on the on the International Nuclear and Radiological Events Scale (INES).ASN said state-run nuclear operator EDF told it on 11 October of a “significant safety event” relating to non-compliance with general operating rules during the draining of the primary circuit at Golfech-2, a 1,310-MW pressurised water reactor unit that began commercial operation in 1994.
