The board of state-owned utility Santee Cooper has met to review bids from more than 50 companies interested in restarting construction of two unfinished AP1000 reactors at South Carolina’s Summer nuclear power station.
At a meeting on 24 October the company planned to evaluate management recommendations and discuss possible next steps towards selecting a private partner to finance and complete the project.
It has been nine months since Santee Cooper called for proposals from potential partners willing to restart construction on the failed reactor project at Summer.
