Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has led to concerns about the schedule for Turkey’s first commercial nuclear power station, which is being built by Moscow’s state-owned nuclear company, local press reports said.

Th first nuclear plant at the Akkuyu station on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast near Mersin, was planned to start next year, but Qatar’s state-owned broadcaster Al Jazeera reported that sanctions against Russia “have threatened to delay the $20bn project”.
