Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom has felt the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic with revenues down about 11% in the first five months of the year, the company’s director-general Alexei Likhachev told president Vladimir Putin in a briefing.

According to a transcript of the briefing released by the president’s office, Mr Likhachev told Mr Putin that “this year, especially in May and April, we saw a contraction of payments, we lost about 11% of revenue for five months, but we made plans for compensatory measures, and this year our main task is to exceed last year's figures”.

Rosatom’s revenues in 2018, the last year for which published figure are available, exceeded 1.03 trillion rubles ($14.8bn, €13.2bn).
