Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom has begun supplying radiopharmaceuticals from a $300m (€280m) nuclear research facility in El Alto, western Bolivia.
Rosatom said the facility, which it built for the Bolivian Nuclear Energy Agency, started supplies of radiopharmaceuticals to a network of Bolivian nuclear medicine centres.
A ceremony to mark the first supply – of the radiopharmaceutical fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) – took place at a nuclear medicine and radiotherapy centre designed for treatment of patients with cancer.
