A consortium led by Rolls-Royce is in the process of securing funding that will allow it to push ahead with the next phase of its UK small modular reactor (UKSMR) project and allow it to access funding set out in the government’s 10-point plan for a green industrial revolution, the company told NucNet in an email.
The funding would be in the form of a grant from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), a national funding agency investing public money in science and research in the UK.
