Countries at UN say Russia is ‘root cause’ of threats to nuclear safety and security
Renewed shelling early on Wednesday morning (21 September) at the site of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station damaged cables providing electricity to one of its six units, temporarily forcing this reactor to rely on emergency diesel generators for the power it needs for essential safety functions, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said.
