Country likely to become first in world to start deep geological disposal of spent fuel
Posiva Oy, the company responsible for the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel from Finland’s fleet of commercial nuclear reactors, has submitted an operating licence application for the Onkalo encapsulation and final disposal facility at Olkiluoto in the southwest of the country.
