Poland’s president Karol Nawrocki has signed an amendment to the country’s nuclear investment law aimed at cutting the time needed to deploy nuclear power projects, a statement said.

The presidential office said the amendment optimises administrative procedures for nuclear investments and is intended to speed up construction of Poland’s first nuclear power station, the site for which is being prepared on the Baltic coast near the villages of Lubiatowo and Kopalino in the province of Pomerania.

The new provisions introduce the possibility of staged works and a legal category of “preliminary construction works”.
