‘Ideal person to lead WNTI into the future’
The World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI) has appointed Peter Bryant as chief executive officer from March 2025.
The London-based group said Bryant will represent members’ interests internationally whilst leading WNTIs growth, development and influence on the global stage.
Bryant joins WNTI from EDF Energy’s Sizewell C, where he is director of environment, social and governance and radiation strategy and was the former head of environment, decommissioning and radiation safety.
Bryant was also former president of the UK’s Society for Radiological Protection and holds an honorary professorship in physics at the University of Liverpool specialising in radiation protection science, nuclear energy policy and nuclear reactor technology.
Jessica Boutteau, chair of the WNTI board said Bryant’s extensive expertise in the nuclear sector, especially in safety, security and radiation protection, combined with his leadership in the international scientific arenas, makes him the ideal person to lead WNTI into the future.
“As the world increasingly turns to nuclear energy to achieve net zero goals, the safe and efficient transport of nuclear materials becomes ever more critical.
“We are confident that under Peter’s guidance, WNTI will continue to grow and enhance its influence on the global stage, for the sake of our members.”
WNTI is an industry group representing companies involved in the transport of nuclear and radioactive materials.
