The operators of nuclear power plants are taking steps to minimise the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, including isolating key staff and stockpiling items workers might need if they are unable to leave a site.New-build projects, including those at Hinkley Point C in England, Hanhkivi-1 in Finland and Vogtle-3 and -4 in the US, have not been delayed by the outbreak, although a spokesman for Hanhikivi-1 told NucNet it was too early to judge what might happen in future. He said the possibility of the pandemic affecting the schedule “cannot yet be ruled out”.Construction at Hinkley Point C in the UK has not been affected by the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus, but EDF Energy said it will be working with contractors and trades unions to review the developing situation in the coming days and weeks.
