The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved the future transfer of the Palisades nuclear power station licences from Entergy Corporation to Holtec International, as owner, and subsidiary Holtec Decommissioning International as decommissioning operator.

In December 2020, Holtec and Entergy submitted a licence transfer application to the NRC for the single-unit Palisades nuclear station in Michigan after its permanent shut down planned for the spring of 2022.
