The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission will accept public comments until 12 October on the draft environmental impact statement regarding Dominion Energy’s application for a subsequent licence renewal for the North Anna nuclear power station in Virginia.
The NRC will also present the draft statement’s preliminary findings and hold a public comment session during a September webinar.
North Anna has twin three-loop Westinghouse pressurised water reactors. The 948-MW Unit 1 began commercial operation in 1978 and the 944-MW Unit 2 in 1980.
