North American companies BWX Technologies, Laurentis Energy Partners and Canadian Nuclear Partners have been selected as a consortium to provide consultancy engineering services for the project to build two new nuclear plants at the Kozloduy nuclear power station in Bulgaria.

The companies said the 10-year owner’s engineer (OE) services contract for Units 7 and 8 at Kozloduy was valued in the “hundreds of millions of euros”.

The announcement came after Alex Nestor, chairman of the board of Kozloduy NPP-New Build, the state-owned company in charge of the project, said recently that he expected a final investment decision for its expansion to come in the second half of next year.
