The growing share of wind power and nuclear power in Finland could reduce emissions from electricity generation to a marginal level as early as 2030, the head of the Finnish Energy Industry Association has said.

Jukka Leskelä said that at the turn of the year, electricity was 82% emissions-free, and emissions are falling all the time.

“Carbon neutrality of electricity is already a visible scenario, as long as the investment environment remains predictable even in the midst of political changes,” he said.
