Signed deployment contracts needed by 2025 to ‘catalyse commercial liftoff’ of advanced reactors
The US needs a rapid nuclear build-out plan with deployment of new reactors beginning in 2030 and ramping up to 13 GW added annually for a target of another 200 GW of nuclear by 2050 – equivalent to about 20 large-scale plants, the Department of Energy says in a report.
