Ministry Backs UK Reactor Technology For Deployment In Poland

Poland’s Ministry of Climate and Environment has issued a decision-in-principle endorsing Rolls-Royce’s small modular reactor (SMR) technology.

Rolls-Royce SMR, the subsidiary developing reactors, and Polish industrial group Industria welcomed the decision-in-principle issued by Poland’s environment minister, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, who said she believes the investment would be in the public interest and in line with the country’s energy and climate policies.

Industria, which is wholly owned by the Polish government as part of the Investment Development Agency, is leading an effort to develop a supply chain of parts and modules for SMR production.
