Five Serbian ministries have signed an agreement with 20 faculties, scientific institutions and state energy companies as the country examines the possibility of establishing a programme to deploy its first commercial nuclear power plants.
The agreement was signed by the east European country’s ministries of mining and energy; science, technological development and innovation; education; environmental protection; and health.
Minister of mining and energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said the agreement should “enable the gathering of experts from the country and abroad who will work on examining the possibility of establishing a programme for the peacetime application of nuclear energy in Serbia”.
