The Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station ​in Ukraine told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that a drone targeted the facility’s external radiation control laboratory on 3 May.

The IAEA said on social media platform X that there were no reported injuries and it is not yet known if the strike damaged the lab, which is located outside the perimeter of the nuclear station.

The IAEA did not say whether the drone was Russian or Ukrainian. The station’s press service said in a statement on Russian social media platform Max that “the armed forces of Ukraine are creating a threat to the radiation safety of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.”
