The operator has strengthened operational safety at Unit 3 of Slovakia’s Mochovce nuclear power station ahead of commercial operation, but further efforts are needed to fully implement some actions drawn up after an earlier mission in 2019, the International Atomic Energy Agency review team said.
The five-day pre-operational safety review team (Osart) follow-up mission, which ended today, was held to evaluate progress made in addressing the findings of an Osart review two years ago.
The team said several findings from the 2019 review were fully addressed, including improvements to Unit 3 operator training and the maintenance of emergency response facilities and equipment.
