Japan began release process in August 2023 after years of preparation
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said in a report that planned discharges of radioactive water from the damaged and closed Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan met all relevant safety conditions and did not pose a risk to people or the environment.
