The South Korean government has approved the implementation plan for the construction of Units 3 and 4 of the Shin Hanul nuclear power plant, paving the way for preliminary planning stages to commence, a government statement said.

The construction of the units is expected to start next year upon the issuance of a construction permit. Granting of the permit was possible after twenty different licensing and permitting procedures involving eleven governmental ministries involved in the construction of nuclear power plants were fully satisfied.
