The Estonian government has approved the formation of a working group to assess the possibility of introducing nuclear power in the Baltic country, the Estonian environment ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the group will be headed by environment minister Tonis Mölder and will include representatives of other ministries.
The statement said the group will analyse the possibility of introducing nuclear energy in Estonia, and assess the country’s energy needs and energy security in the next 20 years. Conclusions and proposals are to be made to the government no later than September 2022.
