US-based GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) has been awarded a contract for the decommissioning of reactor internals and the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) at the Oyster Creek nuclear power station in New Jersey, a statement by the company said.The statement said GEH will dismantle, segment and pack reactor internals and the RPV of the boiling water reactor which was shut down at the site in September 2018. All handling and segmentation will be carried out underwater, GEH said.
