GE Vernova’s nuclear business, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH), announced the signing of two agreements with major British engineering firms Boccard and Cavendish Nuclear to advance the development of GEH’s BWRX-300 small modular reactor (SMR) in the UK.

The move signals GEH’s intent to work more closely with suppliers in the UK as the BWRX-300 technology proceeds through Great British Nuclear’s selection process for SMR projects, said GEH.

The company has signed similar cooperation agreements with Aecon, AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs and Laing O’Rourke.
