The governor of Japan’s Fukui prefecture, home to four nuclear power stations with eight reactors, has asked the government to clarify its policy on nuclear power in an upcoming energy plan, the Japan Atomic Industry Forum (Jaif) reported.

The Ohi, Takahama, Mihama, and Tsuruga commercial nuclear power stations are all in the western Fukui prefecture, roughly 300 km from the capital Tokyo. The prefecture is also home to two other shutdown research reactor facilities, Fugen and Monju.
