The first segment of the inner steel containment has been installed for Unit 6 of the Ningde nuclear power station in Fujian province in the southeast of China, local reports said.
According to the official China National Nuclear Power News Network (CNNPN), the component, placed on the concrete baseplate of the nuclear island, has a diametre of about 43 metres and a weight of about 112 tonnes.
