Funding to partially support research at ITER
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced up to $50m in funding for cross-departmental programmes in support of research and development on fusion energy, a statement said.According to the statement, the DOE’s Office of Science would award $20m of the funds for fusion research at both US and international facilities, which focuses on the use of spherical tokamaks.The DOE said the funding initiative will cover research by US scientists at existing fusion facilities in the US, UK, and other countries with current bilateral agreements with the US.
