The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced $100m (€90m) in funding to establish a nuclear safety training and workforce development programme.
In a statement the DOE said job growth in the US nuclear energy sector is projected to triple by 2050 and the long-term maintenance and sustainability of these reactors is crucial to keeping pace with the growing demand for clean energy.
