The dismantling of the former Fabbricazioni Nucleari di Bosco Marengo nuclear fuel fabrication plant in northwest Italy has been completed, Societa Gestione Impianti Nucleari SpA (Sogin), the state-owned company responsible for dismantling the country's nuclear power plants, announced.

It is the first decommissioned Italian nuclear facility to reach brownfield status, which refers to previously developed land that is no longer in use.
