The long-delayed Flamanville-3 nuclear power plant in France reached 100% nuclear power at 11:37 local time on 14 December, state power utility EDF said.

EDF said in a statement that the plant, in Normandy, northern France, and had produced 1,669 MW of gross electrical power.

The increase to 100% nuclear power followed authorisation from the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority on 12 December allowing the 80% threshold to be exceeded.
