Australia’s only nuclear reactor – the Opal multi-purpose research reactor at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation’s (Ansto) Sydney campus – has returned to power following an extensive months-long planned shutdown period to undergo essential maintenance and upgrades.
