Hot functional testing has been completed at the China-supplied Kanupp-2 nuclear power plant under construction in southern Pakistan, China National Nuclear Corporation said.

Hot testing includes tests on major systems to check their performance under normal operational conditions, without any nuclear fuel assemblies in the reactor.

There are two plants, Kanupp-2 and Kanupp-3, under construction at the Kanupp site, also known as Karachi.
