Replacement electricity is coming from fossil fuels, according to General Atomic
The closure of the Indian Point-2 nuclear power plant in New York state has erased more carbon-free electricity from the grid than is generated annually by all of the wind and solar power deployed statewide over the past 20 years, a pro-nuclear group has claimed.
