China has begun construction of a second CFR-600 fast neutron reactor unit at the site in Xiapu county, Fujian province, where construction of a twin unit has been under way since 2017, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) said in a statement.
According to the statement, construction of the new unit began on 27 December and is a “milestone” achieved on schedule.
