Bill Gates’ nuclear technology company TerraPower has completed an equity raise for a minimum of $750m (€737m) – one of the largest advanced nuclear fundraises to-date – for the deployment of its advanced small modular reactor (SMR) and the development of crucial nuclear medicines.
The fundraise was co-led by SK Inc, SK Innovation and TerraPower founder Gates. SK invested $250m. SK Inc and SK Innovation are part of SK Group, the Asian country’s second-largest conglomerate.
TerraPower said additional funding will come from other investors.
