Russian president Vladimir Putin’s plans to increase the country’s share of nuclear energy from about 20% in 2020 to 25% by 2045 will require the completion of 24 new nuclear power reactors, the head of state nuclear corporation Rosatom said.

Alexey Likhachev said the figure was based on preliminary estimate and could include the construction of reactors at news sies and in new regions.
