An overview of NucNet’s legal status, governance, funding, and organisational responsibilities.
NucNet is a non-profit association (Association Sans But Lucratif • Vereniging Zonder Winstoogmerk) registered under Belgian law. As a non-profit, NucNet has no shareholders and does not distribute profits. Its resources are used to support the activities and objectives of the association.
NucNet is funded primarily through memberships and subscriptions, with additional limited revenue from event advertising and sponsored content. These commercial activities do not determine NucNet's editorial coverage or editorial decisions.
NucNet is governed by its General Assembly and Board of Directors, which meet twice a year to consider strategy and budgets and oversee the overall direction of the association. A President is elected for a renewable two-year term.
Members and observers are experienced current and former nuclear-sector professionals.
Their role is to contribute expertise to NucNet's governance, not to represent commercial
or institutional interests in its editorial coverage.
Day-to-day management and editorial decisions remain the responsibility of NucNet's
management and editorial team.

Editorial decisions are made independently by NucNet's editorial team, in accordance with professional journalistic standards and the objectives of the association. Subscribers, members, advertisers, sponsors and organisations represented in NucNet's governing bodies do not determine what NucNet reports or how its news is covered.
NucNet's governance framework, set out in its statutes, supports this separation between oversight of the association and responsibility for day-to-day editorial decisions. Sponsored and partner content is clearly identified and kept separate from NucNet's independent news reporting.
