RAMTrans 2024: 12th International Conference on the Transport, Storage and Disposal of Radioactive Materials

The conference is dedicated to all aspects of packaging for the transport, storage and disposal of radioactive and nuclear materials. We are thrilled to see the long-awaited return of RAMTrans, the first iteration of the event since 2018.

With the anticipated growth of new nuclear technologies such as small modular reactors and fusion energy, plus the ongoing needs of decommissioning facilities, the nuclear transport sector will play a vital role internationally, enabling the growth of the global nuclear industry in the coming decades.

RAMTrans 2024 will provide an international forum for designers, operators, research organisations and regulators from around the world to share their expertise on successes and challenges, plus an excellent place to renew and develop professional and business contacts.

Curated by a Steering Committee made up of leading professionals from the nuclear transport sector in the UK and Europe, RAMTrans 2024 will feature a mixture of unique oral and poster presentations. As with previous conferences in this series, the programme will be complemented by a trade exhibition in which suppliers of relevant products and services are invited to participate.

The conference will take place over three days at the Pullman Hotel in London, with a formal conference dinner at the fantastic venue of the London Science Museum.

The steering committee invites the submission of high-quality papers to be considered for presentation at this prominent international event.

Due to demand, the deadline has been extended to 31 January 2024 to allow for further submissions.

Authors are invited to propose papers and posters for presentation on any subject closely related to the transport, storage and disposal of radioactive material. Suitable topics could include, but are not limited to:

  • Regulation and Institutional issues
  • Package Engineering
  • Operations
  • Content Specific Challenges

A further breakdown of the topics and subject matter can be found in the Abstract Submissions brochure, along with full information about the submission process.
