ICNC 2027: International Conference On Nuclear Criticality Safety

The 13th International Conference on Nuclear Criticality Safety, ICNC 2027, will take place on 19-24 September 2027 in Manchester, UK.

Held every four years, ICNC is an international forum dedicated to the science and practice of nuclear criticality safety. It brings together specialists from industry, academia, research organisations and regulatory bodies to exchange operational experience, discuss technical developments and examine emerging challenges.

The technical programme will cover calculation methods and nuclear data, uncertainty and sensitivity analysis, measurements and benchmarks, standards and regulation, operational practices and safety cases, storage, transport and disposal, and criticality accidents and incidents.

Special sessions will also focus on advanced design technologies and fuels, future challenges and innovation, professional development and training.

Abstract submissions are open across 11 technical tracks, with oral, poster and lightning presentation formats available. The submission deadline is 8 January 2027, with authors expected to be notified of decisions around 12 February.

The conference will be held at the Deansgate Hotel in Manchester. Technical workshops and tours are also planned, with further details to be announced.
